For 44 years, our current State Attorney has resisted progressive criminal justice reform. He’s charged children as adults in court and pursued the death penalty while giving favorable treatment to police officers who harm our communities. Now, more than ever, Broward County deserves a State Attorney truly committed to justice and equality.
Joe Kimok is an experienced criminal defense attorney, former teacher, and Assistant State Attorney for Broward County. After years of fighting on the frontlines for his clients, Kimok has a deep understanding of the problems that plague our communities. He is the most progressive candidate in this race who will bring real, transformational change to a criminal justice system that works for everyone, not just the privileged few. We have the power to elect leaders that are accountable to our communities and understand that we need change now.
Joe Kimok has pledged to:

End cash bail that unfairly punishes people who cannot afford to pay
Hold police accountable for misconduct against communities they serve
Dismiss stop-and-frisk and no-knock warrant cases
Stop prosecuting marijuana possession
Create a division focused on freeing innocent people wrongfully convicted

Broward County’s Primary Election Day is Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Early voting in Broward County begins August 8th and runs through August 16th. For early voting hours and locations, visit the Supervisor of Elections website.
